Hi,

I have Finale 26 (latest update) and on my nearly-new XPS laptop it takes six minutes to start the program...totally out of the blue. Earlier this week, all good; today, glacial pace. Once it opens to the 'setup wizard' 'recent document' popup, it's good. No error message or anything.

I poked around the forum and saw various suggestions about .INI files - tried removing those. I have updated all drivers, restarted, etc. Is it just time to reinstall? There is no reason I should be able to make and eat a sandwich before the program loads.

Windows 10 Pro version 20H2 | Intel i7 | 32 GB RAM

It sounds like a reinstall might be next. I’d suggest you uninstall this one, first, and not just install over the old one.

So I did that - uninstalled then reinstalled - and it's still over 5 minutes to get in.

Super weird.

Did you let Finale install in the default location? If not, try that and see if you still have an issue.

I did. I reinstalled last night and let it choose all default locations.

I just had the same problem. Re-downloaded, re-installed and reauthorized. Now seems OK. That was strange...

I'm having the exact problem and tried the exact "solutions" with no luck..  I'll follow to see if there is a soultion.

I wish I could tell you that the solution offered was flawless...it was not. I was told that several Dell XPS users were having the same issue. Do you use a Dell, Keith?
