Finale 27.3.0.160 for Mac

I have been editing a batch of songs for an upcoming performance. All has gone well until I got to one of my 6 page charts. It's all there on the screen, but when I print it prints 1, 2 & 4.  3,5 & 6 exist onscreen. I tried saving as pdf and it still came out the same - on screen all 6 pages, but printing only 1,2 & 4.

All others have printed just fine. I'm bamboozled. Flummoxed. Confused.

Help?!

Have you tried restarting the computer?

You might also try exporting the file as XML, and importing it back into Finale.

Thanks Mike. I'll try the export/import to see if it will make it print all. Appreciate it.

Hey Mike -

The export/import did the trick. BTW, the old file allowed me to select page 3 or 5 or 6 to print and it would do it. But if I asked for 2 pages, like 5 & 6, it wouldn't do it.

Is the old file corrupt in some way? Or do we just go with the fix and pretend?!

Thanks again for your help.

You have a page layout problem that is conflicting with your print settings. Normally, we are unaware of the exact thing we did to cause the problem but something happened and it has pushed your doc off the page so to speak. Sometimes it can be a royal PIA to find and fix. Other times it can be as easy as re-flowing your document.

That's one reason why the export/import worked. The import will adhere to your page settings.

Any app involving page layout can do this as Excel users knew before 2011 when the ability to check a box and have your spreadsheet fit a page was introduced. In my case, a firmware update to my Brother printer last week has caused all of my Filemaker invoices and my wife's Word templates to print alternate blank pages. Brother may be the cause but that's not going to fix the issue—only going in and tweaking my invoices and her templates will do that. The temporary workaround is to print to PDF first, then send the PDF to the printer.
