V. 26. Windows 11.

OK - so I found out too late (junk mail) that 26 is no longer being serviced. But in an odd coincidence, my computer crashed (went into full-on recovery mode) on the very same day that 26 went "out of service." OK. Fine. Had to do a total reset. Nuisance all around. NOW, I'm having trouble using Finale AT ALL. First, it hangs when loading. Not 30 or 60 or 90 seconds (which it often did before) but TOTALLY. It WILL. NOT. START. Unless I use the handy dandy "turn off the print spooler" hack, which is of course not any kind of solution unless I want to be constantly turning the spooler on, and off, and on, and off, and . . . well, you get the picture.

I tried to contact folks at Make Music, but all I got was the automated "we can't help you because you're on 26" message. I don't think a person read my issue. All I can think of now is to "upgrade" to 27 (for a bunch of features I really don't anticipate needing), but I don't have any confidence that the upgrade will solve my hanging problem, either. Can anyone give me ANY kind of guidance? The folks at makemusic don't seem interested in offering assistance, as the only way to contact is via their support portal. THANK YOU!

Paul,

This is probably a fault of your printer and not Finale. Make sure the print driver is up to date and or is not corrupted.

This leads me to think that this is most likely the problem.

Addendum,

I would still advise you to upgrade to 27.3 or even 27.4 even though it seems to have a PDF issue (I have not experienced the PDF problem myself).  Paul even though you perhaps don't need some features in 27, it has other updates and is still MM supported. MM will get the PDF issue fixed shortly, too.
