How do I make a "To next strain" (segue) in order to direct the musician forward to a certain measure?

By your words you mean “proceed, continue without a pause” - right?

In the layout, write segue, or attacca.

When seeing that wording, the performer will continue to the following measure, without pausing first.

The inserted example may lucidate what I mean.

I am afraid I do not understand.

Are you asking about layout - or about playback?

You asked:

“ How do I make a "To next strain" (segue) in order to direct the musician forward to a certain measure? ”

In your attached graphic you have answered your own question.

The attached layout will direct the performer forward.

Or are you asking for other layout solutions? (alternative solutions)

* What, exactly, is the problem?

The better we understand, the better we can help.

That looks more like a first and second ending, to me. Is that the intent?

If the measures were numbered: Play 1-8, jump to 11 and play to the end, return to 1 and play to 6, jump to 9 and 10, and end there.

If I misunderstand, I apologize.

Sorry for not asking clearly. This is because I am a newbie in this.
My question was generally meant; inspired by the example shown. I ask to learn Finale; including for playback. Maybe "To next strain" is not useful for that?

Mike Rosen, you got the intention in the example right.

Fortunately the Repeat Tool is a very powerful tool.

You can get any repeat path you may need.

Also, the layout can be any layout you may need.

Take a good look at this demo example (which shows an alternative layout):

https://www.finaleforum.com/download/file.php?id=13166

To examine the Finale document, switch to the Repeat Tool, and use the context menus.
