We need more info:

Layout or playback or both?

Just a few pitches in an ordinary piece (with 12 chromatic half-steps)?

Or almost every pitch in the piece?

The better we understand, the better we can help.

I would use the Expression Tool, and create a custom expression category for the quarter tone accidentals.

Have you examined the quarter tone accidentals in a SMuFL font, like e. g. the Finale Maestro font ?

I've only used quarter tones once in one of my works, but when I did, it was before SMuFL and I did use an expression.

Plays back correctly too: I set the pitchwheel to 341 in the expression playback dialogue for a quarter-tone up, and -341 for a quarter-tone lower.

… this ridiculous forum doesn't seem to take images …

You are talking about screen shots - right?

I have attached many graphics in this forum.

I do not understand why you can not attach graphics here.

Please try again, and let us know your steps, and what happens, when you try to attach a graphic.

Really odd-I also have attached screenshots.

This time, when I edited my comment, it worked! No idea why.

Glad it's working again. What happened is it generated (multiple times) a red error message on the comment saying only images like .jpeg, .png etc are accepted and only up to 2 MB. The images were < 2 MB but on the order of 1.5-1.8 MB so maybe that had something to do with it. Thanks.

In the past year or two, I have had difficulty posting here on occasion. The (short-lived) solution suggested by Finale Support was to clear my browser history (or Firefox), and that did let me post for a while before I had to do it again.

David, I’m interested in your pitch wheel settings. Plus or minus 341 whats? How did you arrive at that?

Now that’s something I never would have thought would be in the manual! Thanks.
