I use Finale 2011 with OS 10.11.6 and have no problems because I don't use playback. Others do too. If you can live without playback, it should work out.

Otherwise, the upgrade is $149 and might be worth your while in order to have a version where all features work.

We've seen this type of behavior on 2012 and earlier versions since the release of MacOS X 10.10 Yosemite. as mentioned here. Another possible workaround is setting Human Playback to "None" under the MIDI/Audio menu. It's not a guaranteed fix, but it's helped many users! Yep, gotta do that. Works fine for me otherwise. 

There are many bugs in the early builds of OS 10.11. I strongly recommend that you update to 10.11.6. No change in the way that F-2011 works for me.

I don't use it anymore but I reinstalled my old copy a few days ago just to see if it works on 10.11.6. Does fine except for Human Playback. Oh, if you haven't run the 2011c updater, do so.

I have installed  OS X El capitan on my computer and now i can  read the  files created with  "Finale 2011" only in association with the piano. The others instruments don't work ! What is the solution ?
