Finale starts the playback, but I don't hear the first few notes. I seems to take some time to get going.

Anyone else having this issue?

Finale version 25.0.0.7722

Mac OS: 10.11.6

The only way I can solve the issue is to insert a 1/4 bar of rest at the beginning of the piece, then the first note sounds.

Since others are not having this issue, perhaps you should post all of the information requested by the link. There's a reason why they ask for it.

It is unfortunate that we can't have our setup as part of our signatures like in the old community board—one of the many reasons this new board isn't very good by comparison.

Dear Mike,

1 and 2 answered. 3 and 4, this happens with every file.

I am not sure what information you are still missing. Can you be more specific?

Thanks, Ned

figured something else out just now which narrows the problem:

When I plugged in my midi keyboard I got the same latency in Play Finale Through MIDI. When I switched to Play Finale Through Audio Units then the latency was much less. Still a tiny bit but workable.

A comment or suggestion cannot be made without information regarding your system setup and architecture.

Unless Finale was not installed correctly the problem is elsewhere.

I have the same problem. When I press spacebar & click on a measure, playback does not play the notes on beat 1. Playback starts on beat 2.

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014), 4 GHz Intel Core i7, 32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, OS10.12.2

Finale 25.20.79, playback with SmartMusic SoftSynth, human playback off.
