Hi! A few weeks ago I upgraded to Finale 25 and OS Sierra (10.12.1) - perhaps I was naive to expect major improvements, but this far, it has only slowed down my work process. Finale is slow and sluggish, does not immediately react to mouse clicks, playback is more stuttering than before and crashes when opening Studio View. I have a 2012 MacBook Pro with 8 GB RAM. Will there be a maintenance update soon? Please don't tell me to buy a new computer - I'd rather downgrade to Maverick and Finale 2012, which has been running smoothly for years.

"It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing."

Cheers /Goran

There is a recent update - Finale 25.1. Go to the menubar Finale > About Finale to see which version you have installed, and install the update if you need it.

I already have the latest update (25.1.0.232). However, I am currently shopping for a SSD and more RAM. Might help.

I'm in the same situation.

I have the latest Finale version and have the same problem on OS Sierra.

I don't know how was on previous OS versions, but on my iMac Finale is slow, graphic reconstructions needs time, not to mention when I scroll with magic mouse on zoom reduced large score. Is not so fluid as I can view on other software.

I hope in an improvements of this and other features.

And today, Finale crashes when creating a new document (Setup Wizard) - multiple times....OK, I'll restart my Mac, brew some coffee and keep my customer waiting.

Tommaso - I am curious, are you by chance using a Mac that has a Retina display or another high resolution type monitor? High resolution monitors can cause slow performance. If you are using a Retina display, you may want to try opening the application in low resolution mode. You can find steps to do this in this Apple KB article. Scroll down to the Open app in Low Resolution mode section to find those steps.

Göran - I would like to see if we can gather some more information and address the crashing on launch. I will open a support ticket with you to collect that diagnostic information.

Lawson I'm not on retina display. I'm on iMac 2010 that have a good monitor speed that don't have any fluidity problem on other app, i mean horizontal/vertical scrolling in primis.

Has updating to 25.2 made any difference?

25.2 seems to better until I open a large score that was the reason I commented here. Same situation on large score.
