How do I scan in sheet music to Finale. My older versions do this. I can't seem to find any mention of scanning in sheet music.
Regards,
BudR.
This function has been removed in 25. Many threads and announcements on this and why—none of which I will rehash.
You can still use your older versions to do this and import the files into 25.1.
Otherwise, you can upgrade SmartScore Lite to SmartScore X2 Pro and use it to scan, export as MusicXML. The scan engine is far more accurate, includes most expressions and lyrics. The price is the same as when I did it in 2011, $199. I found the time savings well worth the price.
Not from your user account. If you have a copy of the download, it will install, however. Since 2014 is still supported, you should contact MM for a download link.
If you have problems finding a copy of 2014.5, contact me back channel on the old forum. You'll have to join and set up an account so you can send me a message. There are helpful people who hang out there but never come here and vise-versa.
I downloaded the demo and I am certain it had the scan function in the LH menu, I checked because a colleague told me that 25 does not have it any more, I assumed he was wrong! I upgraded only to find out he was not! will 2012 run on Sierra? and if it will are there known issues with it?
Plenty of known issues

Scanning options for 25.
There is a way as I have just done this even with 2012 on my account it has a link to previous versions just where you have blocked it out. This happened when I tried to upgrade to 25 and by mistake just put in my current serial code and not the upgrade code. When I refreshed the screen though the version 20212 had gone and was replaced by the V25 with a link to previous versions, in my case it was version 2012
>That's odd. It appears that from My Account on the Finale web site I can still download Finale 2014.<
Really? Good.
>When I refreshed the screen though the version 20212 had gone and was replaced by the V25 with a link to previous versions<
In my case, it might have something to do with the fact hat I have multiple licenses, only one of which was upgraded to 25. I don't know.
What I do know is that versions of Finale before 2012 were never available for download. I do see download links to every version of Notepad I ever used—I used to email follow ups to my students, even though I created them in Finale.
Music-to-XML is the product that was to have been included with 25 but was dropped before release. It is available as a standalone app only and the cost is $99.95
>And even if you don't have the older version, as a Finale owner, you can purchase SmartScore X2 Pro for half price, $199.<

I would spend the extra $99.05 for SmartScore X2 Pro. It has all of the functionality of Music-to-XML plus a lot more including (ESPECIALLY) the ability to edit your scans before exporting them to Finale via MusicXML 3. I just can't imagine using a product that doesn't let me do that—even if I save $99. There's a 30 day trial available for X2P; none for Music-to-XML.

With both products, scanning to .tiff and not importing everything (SSLite) is no longer an issue. These apps will just import .pdf files. SS X2P can alsn import other types including .enf and .tiff. Having used SSL in the bad old days, I am amazed at how good X2P is with .pdf files.
What is your time worth?
