I am professional church musician and I have been using PrintMusic for more than 10 years to create thousands of score. Lately I upgraded my Mac to OS High Sierra and then my PrintMusic software doesn't work anymore. And I found that PrintMusic is no more available for mac. I don't want to use another notation software (Crescendo, Sibelius, MuseScore etc) because I am familiar with PrintMusic.

Is it true that PrintMusic is a light version of Finale ?

Will I find on Finale the same commands than on PrintMusic ?

Did somebody make the same move from PrintMusic to Finale ? Do you recommand it ?

Yes, PrintMusic is a stripped-down version of Finale. Anything you did with PrintMusic, you can do with Finale. And a lot more, as well. Be prepared for a learning curve, to use it to its fullest.

Some commands may be different, depending on what version of PM you're used to, but you should be able to work with it.

I downloaded Finale 25 on my computer (the 30 days version) and I am very satisfied. Now I want to buy it.

There is something I don't understand: what is this «media kit» that I can buy for an extra 25$, what's the use of it, do I need it ?

Thanks

The "Media Kit" is the same software you would download when you purchase Finale v25. The difference is that the software comes on a USB drive, so you have a version of the software in your hot hands if it makes you feel more at peace. I ordered it when Finale v25 first came out and am not sorry, even though I have never needed it. Needless to say, as the software is updated, the USB version is not the latest version.

If you need a hard copy on DVD, it's an extra $25. Most of us don't since the download is all you need.

Unless you still have a dial-up modem, you don’t need it!
