Is there any way of making a tremolo between two notes occupying a minim's duration (ie. two minims with tremolo symbol between them) that DOES NOT beam the two minims together?

Is the easy tremolos plug-in the only way of doing tremolos?  This plug-in forces you to beam minims together, which, according to Faber and Faber (one of the leading music publishers in the U.K.) is incorrect!  If I want to do it their way, is there another tremolo plug-in that I can use?

Thanks,

George

The plug-in Easy Tremolos is included in the TG Tools Lite package that you get for free with Finale.

A plug-in only does what you can do yourself, manually, with Finale.

The plug-in just does it faster.

If the tremolo has 3 beams, the plug-in creates the tremolo notation as a special (big) tuplet of only two 32nds where the noteheads have been changed.

If I understand you correctly, you do need the two notes beamed; but you need the beams to be dis-connected from the stems, right?

You can disconnect the beams yourself, manually:

Special Tools Tool - sub-tool Beam Extension Tool.

In this case you will extend the beams “inwards”, not “outwards”.

Strictly speaking it is the opposite of extending the beams (= beam restriction?), but hey, in these instructions I am using “Finale-speak”, not standard english.

You got TG Tools Lite for free, with Finale.

If you buy the full TG Tools plug-in package from Tobias Giesen, you will get the “full” Easy Tremolos plug-in, with the option of disconnected beams.
