Dear Moderator,

I was an old member of the makemusic forums but have been inactive for almost 5 years now due to work commitments.

While doing some research for a hymn project (something I have not done in a very long time) last week I came accross the link to the old forums and was redirected here. I was also very surprised and happy that my account has been achived all this time.

Nonetheless, I tried earlier today to 'test' my account to make sure it is still functional by posting a message to the forum. I was quite positive my post was on the messageboard when I left the office this afternoon.

However, when I checked again tonite, my post have disappeared. I can only arrive at two conclusions; 1) I made a mistake or 2) it has been removed/deleted. If that has been the case and you are responsible, please give me a good reason why.

I have the license for Printmusic 2011 but hope to upgrade to the latest full finale version now that I am back in the game.

Thanks and regards,

M

Dear Moderator,

My most sincere apology.

Something very strange happened. Seconds after I posted the above message, the old one, (the subject of the above complaint), suddenly appeared.

I understand I have an option to edit or delete the above but I chose to post this apology instead.

Will endeavor to remove this thread in due course or more than happy if you can do it at your end.

Thanks heaps, M

Monise,

Welcome back! How are things out in the ocean?

It's the forum mods who should apologize. The forum software that they have chosen is dreadful. Posts seem to appear and disappear at random. There is no way to post a Finale file, or send a private message. The threads don't indicate who posted the last response. You may get an email about a response to a thread, but when you log on, it's not there.

Many of us have been complaining since Day 1.

… You may get an email about a response to a thread, but when you log on, it's not there …

In my experience this gets fixed when the thread is updated.

However, a thread does not always get updated immediately.

Sometimes it takes days.

I suspect that update must be done “manually”, by the forum administrator; it is not done “automatically”, by the forum software.
