I can no longer see the beams on eighth notes , for groups of two or four. So they all look like quarter notes. Single eighth notes appear correctly. Also, ties are not showing. I have tried reloading the font package, as well as removing all the Finale families of fonts and then reloading the font package. Also checked for duplicate fonts - there were none. I'm using Finale 8 on a Mac OS 13.6. Just upgraded to 13.6 from 10.8.5.

Do you mean Finale 2008? and Mac OS 10.13.6?

 

If so, you will need to upgrade to Finale 25. Nothing earlier is supported on the Mac.

You can upgrade directly through your MakeMusic account. Some of the big resellers sell Finale upgrades—if purchased through them, you will be emailed a code and instructions on using it in your MakeMusic (FinaleMusic) User Acount.

 

On a Mac, you should use Safari or Firefox for the upgrade purchase and download. Other browsers including Chrome have had issues. If on a VPN or behind a firewall, you may have to temporarily disable it along with anti-virus. Once purchased, downloaded and registered, go ahead and re-enable. Normal access through Chrome is fine.

Ditto. But, instead of Finale 2009, I have Finale 2009. Does the same apply to me as well?

If you have 2009, no, that is not supported on the newest OSs, either.
