Take a look in the Speedy menu.

Is the menu item “Use MIDI Device for Input” selected or de-selected?

I have exactly the same problem. Speedy entry enters the rests and not the notes. What if I just want to use the computer keyboard and not the MIDI Korg M1 keyboard that I have connected?

In that case you should de-select “Use MIDI Device for Input”.

That did not remedy it, sorry to say. If it helps any, I have Finale 2012. I have Windows 10 (Hp ENVYx360): Bang & Olufsen computer.

If you aren't using a MIDI keyboard for note entry, why not try Simple Entry?

And maybe take advantage of the summer sale, and upgrade your decade-old program...?
