Hi Everyone,

Since there is a definite date for the OS release, can’t you be a little more specific than “later this year?”
Why are you waiting until the F26 release to “turn your attention” to an update to F25? Surely, hearing that “we are just waiting to confirm that our completed update is fully compatible with the final OS release, before releasing it,” would indicate that you actually cared about your user base.
Since F26 looks like a totally uninspiring upgrade so far, knowing that I could continue to use F25 would be comforting.
I’d like to know what the issues are. I’ve been on Mojave and have used F25 for minor things so far without a problem but this is the first I’m hearing of a problem. Last year I didn’t hear about issues with Reason 8 and High Sierra until well after the release of HS and that forced me to shell out $125 for an update I otherwise would not have bought when I finally experienced some of the problems Propellerhead finally noted publicly.
Are these critical issues with Finale under 10.14 or just minor ones or even just the absence of adequate testing? Also, Mojave has been in beta for quite some time yet we are only hearing of this now?
Yes, I agree. Why wait until v. 26 is out to fix v. 25 for Mojave. It's also bad timing for a Finale update. Schools are already using v. 25 and will be reluctant to upgrade mid-year, as every computer in use by students would have to be upgraded which is easier done during the summer. I would like to see a fix for Mojave with v.25 before any major upgrade to v.26. I would also like to be able to upgrade to Mojave.
IIRC Several Mac OS upgrades ago, MM had a version of Finale all set to go when Apple changed the OS sound subroutine at the last moment and messed up several audio software companies, not just Finale. So it is not surprising that MM is being cautious promising to be Mojave ready the day it is released.
As someone who worked on a school computer staff for several years, it makes more sense to wait for the compatibility issues to be solved before porting to a new OS. With most schools now, one can push OS changes to computers en masse.
I definitely understand that a lot of people would want to know more details about specifics on this, I know I would. I wish we could provide more details but there are still variables that can change the end results at this point. Offering up specific information on this right now may lead to presenting everyone with what could essentially be inaccurate information and we want to avoid that.
OS 10.14 is scheduled for release next Monday. I expect that, by Tuesday, there will be several reports.
But not from me. My 2010 & 2011 iMacs are too old—need 2012 or newer to be Metal Graphics compatible as required. I'm looking for a newer one but won't have it by then. Because of onboard storage and other issues, I will get a 2015 27" i7 or newer.
Hi,
Yes : what is the reality ? either Finale 25 DOES NOT WORK AT ALL with Mojave ? or… there are SMALL GLITCHES ? It is totally different.
It is so disappointing that MakeMusic : Finale engineers seem to have neglected that this fact could really bother of bunch faithful Finale users !
Hope that we we will have some further details ASAP.
All the best

Get a grip. Many companies never make such an announcement till after the OS release, scheduled to happen in a few hours.
Some users have already reported about the latest beta. The information is already out there even if the official announcement isn't.
I looked and couldn’t find any reports about Finale’s functioning under beta versions of Mojave (except for David Toub’s post above). I would also be interested to know what kinds of issues, if any, Finale users who were beta testing Mojave have been having. I realise that MM has to be cautious, especially since we apparently never know what Apple might have up its sleeve until the actual release of a new operating system. Still, it would be good to get some actual feedback from experienced users; there have been cases in which a new operating system wasn’t officially supported by MM but the newest version of Finale nevertheless ran under it, perhaps with a few caveats.
Zero issues here so far.
I agree that it would be best if MM published a list of known issues. Particularly since many of their users are not "at choice" wrt upgrading to Mojave. Putting out a list would be better than having their user base consider another product (which I have to admit I did when I first read their email).
Are the people who are using Finale v25 with Mojave with success really putting Finale through its paces? I also would like to know what glitches MM has found or are they just being cautious. I would hate to think that they are just waiting so people will buy v26 when it comes out.
Hi Everyone,
I know that more details on this are certainly wanted and we want to provide this info as we can, as well. So, here is a link to the latest blog post with some updated information.
