Finale 2011

Windows 10 (Education)

I did a lot of work on Finale last night, and I opened it this afternoon to discover that about 80% of my work has vanished.  It was a piano-vocal score.  Some of the piano measures are still there, but I lost all the vocal measures (the measures are still there, but are now all rests).  I am obsessive about saving, so I know this is not an issue of not pressing save.  (Also, some of the work that I did later on, such as a time signature change and score format change are still there... but the notes are gone.)  The time shown on the "last edited" menu was also the time I would have been finishing up.

Any ideas?  Can I recover this?   The thought of having to re-do it all makes me sick.  Not to mention I am afraid of losing it a second time.  I have never had this problem before.

Thanks,

Linda

Sometimes when I "Save as..." to save a revised version, I find I have somehow saved it to the wrong folder; so I go back to the version I used last and click on "Save as...": just to see which folder it defaults to. It doesn't always work, but i try it anyway.

Hope you find yours.

Problem solved.  The missing notes had been entered as Layer #2.  I realized something was odd when I pressed the playback button and I could hear the missing notes, but not see them.  I pressed the "2," and everything was back!  (OK, the notes are all red, which I do not remember from my initial entry, but I am very happy to have them all back!)

Thanks for your help.
