I'm still fairly new to Finale, but I presented this problem to one of my former band directors who is well versed in the program, and she was also clueless. When entering triplets using the simple entry tool, the values of the notes appear to be off. By this, I mean that the eighth note triplets play back as sixteenth note triplets, and the quarter note triplets play back as eighth note triplets. If playback were the only issue, then I really wouldn't mind. However, the program also seems to believe that when I enter eighth note triplets, they are actually sixteenth note triplets. For example, when I enter 12 eighth note triplets in a bar of 4/4, the measure should theoretically be filled. Instead, when I click away from the measure, Finale fills in the rest of the bar with a half rest as if I had input 12 sixteenth note triplets. This problem has really been an issue for me, and it has made usage of this program very difficult. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
