We need more info.

1) Are you an experienced Finale user?

I am not sure how detailed instructions you need.

2) Are you using your own, custom created chord suffixes - or are you using one of the ready made suffix libraries that come with Finale?

3) Regarding diminished and half diminished:

Take a look in the Chord menu.

Is the menu item

Substitute Symbols

selected or de-selected?

When selected, Finale substitutes the Maestro diminished and half-diminished symbols when you type "o" (lower case letter o) or "%" (SHIFT+5), respectively.

4) Inversions (6 and 64) can be found in the chord suffix library Figured Bass.

I do not have this. When I do File Menu>Load Library, its opens up a box. But does not give me any sort of library. When I searched Libraries, Chord Suffixes, or Figured Bass nothing pops up. Is this on Finale 2012?

A folder of default libraries has been included in a Finale installation for many versions, including Finale 2012.

I suspect that the Libraries folder in your user account has somehow been deleted.

In your user account the path should be

-/MakeMusic/Finale 2012/Libraries

However, a re-install may not be necessary:

Finale keeps a “backup folder hierarchy” at the root level.

If you can find a Libraries folder there, then you can copy it to your user account.

On a Mac, the path via Finale’s “backup folder hierarchy” is

(root level)/Library/Application Support/MakeMusic/Finale 2012/Libraries

The path via the user account’s {Finale folder hierarchy} is

(user account)/Library/Application Support/MakeMusic/Finale 2012/Libraries

This is the Libraries folder Finale uses, when you choose

File > Load Library…

or

File > Save Library…

However, in your user account the Library folder may be hidden.

To get to the hidden Library folder, hold down the Option key, and pull down Finder’s Go menu.

Because you hold down the Option key, the Library folder is an item in the Go menu.

If this is still an issue, what fonts are you using? Not all have the symbols you want.

Is 2012 the oldest version of Finale installed on your Mac or was it an upgrade from an earlier version?
