I did a concert band arrangement about 4 years ago and the score had a line for each instrument including a line for Drum Set. This appeared with the drum set clef and the notes on the stave but nothing in the space above and below the stave. I have just opened the original file again and the Drum Set line as well as having notes on the stave has numbers in the space under the stave under each note. The numbers are mainly 4 or 3 and there is a whole line of them, one number under each note. How has this happened ? Have I inadvertently changed a setting and if so which one ? I do not want this row of numbers; it overwrites anything else that was in the space under the line such as dynamic markings.
I have reinstalled Finale 2011 but this has not got rid of the problem.
Can anyone explain this and suggest a solution please ?

I should have added that I run Windows 7 and Finale 2011 has always run well on this platform.

Can you post a screen shot? That may give us some ideas.

Also, do the numbers print?

Or are the numbers “display-on-computer-screen-only”?

The numbers are screen only display. They do not appear on print. Here are some examples.

Dear Peter,

Thank you for solving this problem for me. Your suggestion has directed me to what this list is, a list of Percussion Midi values which somewhere along the line I must have ticked by accident to show in the working file. Un-ticking this has cleared the list.
