Mac OS 10.10

Finale 2014.5

Here's a first for me! Every time I made an edit a page goes blank. When I tell Finale to redraw the screen the app complies!!!

I'd try restarting the computer first.

Thanks for responding. Obviously, I've tried that-multiple times! But, again, thanks for taking the time to respond. GE

Gary Eskow,

Is the problem document specific - or program specific ?

I mean, does the problem happen in all Finale documents, even in a fresh new Document Without Libraries ?

If the problem is program specific, have you tried quitting Finale, removing the Preferences file, and launching Finale again ?

Thanks, Peter...it only happens with this one file! Almost done with the score, so I think I'll live with the nuisance rather than trash prefs...Thanks again!!!

You could try saving the file as XML (File Menu > Export XML) and opening the XML in Finale. This often strips out any bad stuff in the original Finale file. You might lose some formatting, however.

I have the same problem. Any suggestions or explanations?

What are the ramifications of trashing prefs?

Thank you.

Have you tried the XML suggestion?

If you have set up any preferences that you want, trashing the prefs will delete them, and recreate a new, blank preferences file.

The XML option seemed to radical for me, given that I was 90% done with the score, but thanks for responding.
