Are you trying to open by double-clicking, or File > Open... ?

Either way, the result is the same. I open the software first and then select OPEN from the File menu and then select the file, I get the error. I double click the doc while the app is already running, I get the prompt. I double click the file while the app is not running, I get the prompt.

It’s an OS error. It can mean anything from a corrupt file to an actual drive error. If on a remote drive, it can mean that you don’t have privileges or permissions to write to the drive.

Are these files on a remote drive or your system disk?

On system disk.

I recommend contacting Support through the Submit a file link at the top of the page. They should be able to rule out or confirm a corrupted file and may have other insights.

Others have said MM will not support F2014, but it doesn't hurt to contact them and try.
