Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 Finale 25.5.0.259 PreSonus Audiobox USB 96 Finale is reading data from the audiobox, because under MIDI/Audio / Device Setup / Audio Setup I am getting volume through the input meter, and can hear it in my headphones. When I go to record, though, no activity shows in the audio track. I am in Studio view and have successfully set it up to the point where I have a count-off and the sheet music plays while I am "recording." The audio track just isn't reading from the microphone. (I did activate the "R" button on the track, and the audio track is not muted.) Thank you in advance for your help!

My recollection is that the Finale audio track takes MP3 or WAV import files; it is not set up for live input.

If I am mistaken, no doubt someone will tell me.

According to this link it seemed that you could... But maybe it is a Finale 26 feature? The recording button also seems to imply recording ability, but it's possible the functionality isn't all there. Do you think this is a question tech support would answer?
(Thankfully for my current project I have a work-around. Create another line of score with woodblock clicks, export audio, and record to that in Logic.)

Hi Christina,

You can record audio into Finale using the audio track. It sounds like you are doing everything correctly too so if you want to, use the Submit a Request option above and get in touch with us directly and we can look into this further with you.

Make certain that your audio inputs are set up correctly. This is the normal issue.

Less common is that another app took over the audio input. Finale 25 is less affected by this than earlier versions. Reboot — if that fixes you up, this is the issue. I still use an app that causes this and I must reboot if I want to use any other audio app afterward.

Thanks to you both! I'm a bit behind schedule on my project - the movie I'm adding live score to premieres December 13th! 😱 But I'll try to find a spare moment to try out your suggestion @Mike Hallorian, and contact tech if I'm not figuring it out.
