There should be plenty of MIDI files on the internet that you can import. I haven't checked in many years but Google is your friend. Search in German and English to see what's out there.

My choir is singing "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring," but I have changed the words to another text from the hymnal that matches the chorale.  We are singing this for Advent.  If I had the accompaniment in Finale, then I could add the SATB above it...

Cantata 147 was written for a small orchestra (trumpet, two oboes, strings, and continuo). There are various arrangements out there. I still recommend finding the MIDI file you like and import it into Finale.

When I did my arrangements for guitar/mandolin ensemble and solo guitar, i entered it from scratch. As many of the passages repeat, using copy and paste (via the old Note Mover tool!) didn’t take very long. How long? An hour or two, I guess — it was over 20 years ago and I was transcribing arrangements I’d done in pen & ink nearly 30 years earlier. I do recall knocking those out in an evening using photostats of C. 147 from the public library as my source — Internet didn’t exist in 1971.

If you already have an arrangement and only want to change the words, you can do this in a pdf editor. Depending on the app, either pull up white boxes that you drag to shape over the old words (Preview) or erase them (Photoshop, Elements, Acrobat Pro). Now you type the new ones in — how you pull up the Text tool depends on the app but they can all do it.

I do this a few times a week at one of my church jobs to make the text and guitar chords easier to read on a Sunday morning.
