Hello, I want to print a file as a booklet on legal size paper. I created the pages in Finale as 7" X 8.5". I cannot figure out how to get it printed as a booklet. I have tried FinaleScript without success. I have made numerous booklet in MS Word, but just cant't find a way to get it done with Final. I have tried "printing" an Acrobat file without success. Your ideas will be much appreciated. A recommendation for Technical Help, paid of course, would be helpful, too.

Printing "2-up" will get you pages side by side, but arranging pp 4 & 1 on one side of a sheet with 2 & 3 on the other (not to mention paginating longer books) cannot be done in Finale (as far as I know). Sending single 7x8.5" pages to PDF and then combining them in a PDF editor may be one (not altogether simple) option.

Are you using Windows or Mac?

There are some programs that can handle booklet printing for you.

As Peter and Adrian indicate, this is easily solved but we need more info: Which version of Finale and OS?

 

Printing is one area where Finale is different, Mac v. Windows. Likewise, the version matters, especially on the Mac.

Thanks, all for your quick responses. 

I am on Finale 26.1.0.397, and I am using a PC with Windows 10.

I am very interested to learn of programs that can handle booklet printing.

Are you willing to spend money on booklet software?

 

You should take a look at ClickBook for Windows.

 

If you need freeware, make a web search.

There are some free Windows programs that can handle booklet printing.

That's pretty slick for $49.95. I notice there's a version for Mac as well.

 

I use Swift Publisher. Although I bought it for printing CDs on my ancient HP c309a printer, it's pretty easy to use for general desktop publishing chores like this. Anything else it does is icing on the cake. Works fine in Catalina, too. Mac only $19.95
