Since 26 is now over a year and a half old, it's not going to happen for 25.

I do a lot of copying and pasting and have no idea what bug you are talking about. If you could be specific exactly what you are doing and getting vs the result you expect, it would help.

Forgive me for a bit of cheek.  When I started to create this thread, the site suggested 4 existing threads all complaining about the same issue.  So this is not a new conversation.

I'd upload a file here to illustrate, but I do not see a way to do that.  The problem is as I said: when one copies music from one place to another within the score, any related Staff Styles copy only into the score, but not the part.  For example, a guitar part in rhythmic notation will show up in the part as regular notes.

Quoting from an email I got from MakeMusic in 2012: "This problem has been identified as a software defect and has been assigned to our product development department. If possible, the defect will be scoped and corrected in an upcoming version of Finale.  In the meantime, you can select the entire piece with the Selection Tool (if all styles are to be applied to both parts and score), then choose the Staff Tool, go to the Staff Menu and choose Use Selected Staff Style for Score and Parts. This will apply it quickly to the parts as well."

So, it's been at least 8 years.  Will they ever fix it?

The problem still exists in 26.  I teach students to use Finale.  They're confused enough by the Staff Styles concept.  When they encounter the bug, they assume they did something wrong.  It is very frustrating.

I confirm the issue and the fix (which you mentioned) :

Michel, "Use Selected Staff Style for Score and Parts. " does not have any impact on the problem. All Staff styles I use have this option checked and the problem persist. This is an old and known bug which is still present and needs at least a time wasting procedure to check all the parts and correct the whole passages manually.

Actually, it has to be used on a selected region of the score AFTER the bug appears. Then things get fixed in the parts, that's my experience. It is not enough to have that menu item selected beforehand.

Yes, that was my point.  The fix works, but we shouldn't need it. 

You may know this but if you wait to generate parts until after you've finished the score (or re-generate the parts), you will not have this problem.

Thank you John for pointing to this, but this solution brings for me more work and time spent, than if I use score with blank parts and then manually apply Staff styles which should be already applied in Parts.

The reason is simple: Finale does not offer more than one setting for generated parts.

For me this means to redefine couple of them. For example Rhythm section will have different percentage and systems on one page.

The result is - because of the Staff Style bug I have to waste time in any way.
