I have 2 versions os Finale - 2012 and 20.6. Hyperscribe isn't working with either. I am on a mac os (Mojave).

2012 crashes as soon as I try to use hyperscribe.

20.6 has never workes it does absolutely nothing the box just sits there. I

have tried everything including resetting hyperscribe options to "all channels" because I know there is a sticking problem.

Mouse clicking notes just takes way too much time. Please help!!

Even if you can make Hyperscribe work, you still have to play very precisely “robotically”, to get the rhythms right.

And to get a whole note you have to play the note’s full duration.

That is the reason why many users prefer step time entry via the Simple Entry Tool or via the Speedy Entry Tool.

You can speed up the note entry considerably via keyboard entry.

Finale comes with a tutorial document called “EntryExercises”.

If you have not gone through that tutorial yet, then I will strongly recommend it.

Thank you for taking the time to reply, Peter,

I will check that out.

I sure wish Finale would work the way it's supposed to though. I write tons of piano music and hyperscribe save me a lot of time. Even though I always have to do a lot of editing. Simple entry works but you have to change the rhythm by hand. I haven't used speedy entry much I will look into it more.

Best,

hyperscribe is recording the rhythm half a beat later rather with the click.  What's up?

That may mean your sound buffer is too large. (You may have set it that way to avoid distorted sounds, but it does affect "latency," the delay between when you press a key and when the computer recognizes it.)

Latency may also depend on the interface between your keyboard and your computer. Some are just slower than others.

Many plugins introduce significant latency—even if bypassed. Make certain that you have none in the chain when entering notes.
