macOS 10.15.6

Finale 26.3.1.643

Very odd: I'm working on a new piece from scratch

If I invoke CMD-F to flip a tie, nothing happens. Doesn't matter how I'm positioning my cursor (and it shouldn't matter so long as it's on the note), even on the notehead, nothing happens.

If I go to the Speedy Menu and just click on Tie Direction, then the keyboard shortcut works, albeit only temporarily.

Any thoughts? I've never seen this happen before. Thanks.

Have you tried “the usual suspects”?

I mean

- Reboot the computer,

- Remove the Preferences file (= com.makemusic.Finale.plist),

- Quit Finale, and launch Finale again,

I've certainly done #3 but will try the first two, although as this is the first use of Finale after a clean install of Catalina, it seems odd that restarting would help. Thanks.

David, are you selecting the note? I've never had it work just by positioning the cursor.

In Speedy Entry, you position the cursor on the note (either the stem or head depending on what you need to do). That is what I was doing. After multiple restarts, it is now working as expected (and it doesn't matter whether a notehead or stem is selected, which is how it should work). Thanks. Somehow must have been an odd temporary glitch.

My bad. I use Simple, exclusively.
