I'm working with a Bass Clarinet part and I want to change the clef for a section of the score but I can't change it. I knew how to do this in earlier versions (unclicking set to clef), but I can't figure out how to do this in Finale26.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Mark Nerenberg,

I am unable to reproduce your problem with my own copy of Finale v26.

For me the clef change is no problem - I can change the clef anywhere in the Bass Clarinet.

Please describe your steps, and hopefully we can tell you what you are doing wrong.

I have a transposing part, using score manager, I set the transposition to Bflat, up M9 treble clef. There are a few bars in the middle that I'd like to set to another clef, using the clef tool, I select that area, change the clef, but nothing changes in the score. Actually, I can see that I can't change the clef anywhere in the score.

Mark Nerenberg,

Clef changing works the same way in Finale v26 as you did in earlier versions:

Un-click ”Set to Clef”, and you can change clef “locally” (= only for a selected region).

Hi Peter, thanks for your responses.

Where can I find 'Set to Clef'? I think it used to be in staff attributes, but I can't find it anywhere.

Thanks!

Set to Clef :

ScoreManager, select the staff -> Transposition -> Other.
