Hello, I have created very many technical exercises for trumpet that I would like to incorporate into a book. I know how to print a few pages, but I need help with a large book. I have an HP Laserjet 5000N printer that will print on tabloid (11X17) paper. Any suggestions about how to approach this desire will be greatly appreciated. I would like to have page numbers. Saddle stitching would probably be fine. This is not for distribution, except to a few of my trumpet-player friends.

Many thanks.

Unless you have the facilities for printing, folding, stitching, binding, and trimming, this would probably be best sent to a professional shop. They would be the ones to give you advice on layout issues.

What MikeR says.

There are older threads on trying to do this within Finale. Unless it's nearly all music with very little text, I am not a fan.

A layout app is generally a better tool. It can be a simple one like Word or it many rivals or an actual page layout app. Although In Design and Quark are the heavyweights, there are many inexpensive alternates. I have Quark but find that Swift Publisher ($19.99 Mac Only) has most of the tools I need — and prints directly to CDs (which is why I bought it in the first place).
