This makes Play Score a non-starter for me: There are no built-in notation editing tools in PlayScore 2, other than a masking feature.

That's easy. Read the link I posted. When a review tells me that an app won't do something I need, an eval is a waste of my time. Life's too short to play with tools that can't handle the task at hand.
I'm not a fan of anyone's subscription model. Having that as my only option doesn't totally disqualify it from consideration but, when compared to a similar product with a permanent license, I won't bother with an eval. I well understand that it's a business decision but a bad one if attempting to capture my business.
