Hello, I'm using Finale version 25.5.0.259 on mac os Mojave version 10.14.6. This is a problem I've had once before but I don't remember how to fix it. When I'm imputing notes, the note will show up on the staff a fifth higher than wherever I click. If I try to put an eighth note on c, it shows up on the staff as a g. It may have been a problem with holding shift? Thanks

Not enough info.

 

There are several ways to input notes.

 

Are you using Simple Entry or Speedy Entry? - or?

What input device? - MIDI keyboard? - Computer keyboard? - Mouse? - or?

 

Please describe your steps so that we can try to reproduce the problem.

Is this for a transposing instrument? Do you have Display in Concert Pitch selected or deselected?

I am writing for piano, so concert pitch isn't the issue. I'm using simple entry on a computer keyboard.

Have you tried restarting the computer? Recreating the Preference file?
