Hello,

I need a suggestion.
I've written a score with one chorus, four verses and then I've written lyrics under melodies.
While editing the score I've changed the melody notes (not the duration) to the first verse.

Now I need to copy and paste this new melody to the other three verses without deleting already written lyrics in that verses, how achieve this?

Please let me know how and if it is possible.
Thanks for your help

Edit menu > Edit Filter…

In the dialog box Edit Filter, de-select Lyrics.

Now you can copy without affecting Lyrics.

NB:

When you are done, remember to de-select Use Filter.

I've done this but when I paste to the destination measures (ALT+click) Finale delete old melody and lyrics too, lefting a line in place of lyrics.

It seems that lyrics are connected with the native notes.

I can confirm the issue.

It seems that the Copy Filter does not work, as you would expect.

Another idea:

Instead of copying the new melody, use the Simple Entry sub-tool Repitch Tool to change the pitches.

Thanks for suggestion Peter, is seems to be the only way to achieve this task.

Anyway I think that this could be a request for the next Finale updates.

Thanks for your time ;)

You might want to send this to Support anyway in case there’s something that we are missing. I use e Repitch tool for this but there are times when I could use a more efficient approach. Use the Submit a request link at the top of the page.

Like Mike H., I would go to the repitch tool.
