I have recently bought a new iMac (Mac OS Catalina, version 10.15.7) and transferred everything from the old iMac. All of sudden, my Finale (version 26) doesn't have any sound on playback, even though Garritan instruments for Finale is listed on top of Sound Map Priority. I checked everything, using my best knowledge, but still doesn't make any sound. I would be thankful if someone could kindly help me to understand what is going on with my Finale.

Open the Aria Player, navigate to your libraries and reassign.

i would download and reinstall Finale and the Garritan instruments.

If you are using the included Finale Garritan sounds, did you installed them in addition to the Finale program itself? If you use add-on Garritan sound packages, did you authorize the Garritan sound packages on your new Mac?

Thank you so much for your advices. I'm using the included Finale Garritan sounds. I did install it when I was using my old iMac and transferred everything to my new iMac. But, maybe I should start over - reinstall Finale and the Garritan instruments. When I open Aria Player, it all says "empty" and I can't click anything.

I would go ahead and reinstall. “Transferring” doesn’t always put things where they belong.

Thank you for your advice. I will download it again. Such a basic question - no cost for downloading?

You download from your MakeMusic User account. Unlike some companies, these downloads do not time out.

You are allowed only 2 computers to be authorized at a time but there's a way to de-authorize older installations. Click on the Manage Authorizations button in your account.
