Hello!

I was wondering if it's possible to copy my finale music form my Macbook Pro to my iPad Pro. I would like to be able to play these pieces from my iPad, page turn with my bluetooth AirTurn DUO BT200 foot pedal, and possibly edit the music.

Are any of my dreams possible? And, if so, can you tell me how to do it? (what apps do you recommend, etc. etc.)

Thanks,
Katherine

The files? There's no way to read them on an iOS device — but that's not what you are looking for here. You want to read a copy of a score and that's different. Begin by exporting your file to PDF in the Graphics menu — on s Mac, you do not want to print to pdf from Finale for this (long story, many threads).

You can view pdf copies of your scores easily. One way is the Kindle Reader — free and easy to use. There are many dedicated music reader apps that work with foot pedals and other Bluetooth devices. Load a pdf of the score in and let it work. Google is your friend. Others will make recommendations, no doubt. They will all have instructions.

As for your pedal, what apps does it work with? That's where you should start.

I use ForScore to keep all my PDF files. You can also import MIDI or MP3 files and link them to your PDFs. You can edit the PDF of the score, but it will have no bearing on playback. You will have to go back to Finale to generate new audio files.

I don't do it myself, but ForScore can use a bluetooth pedal to turn pages.

I'm also a ForScore user on the iPad (pdf files only). It suits my needs perfectly.

Other options exist : Newzik (also imports MusicXML files), Staffpad Reader.
