I am using a 2011 MacBookPro Computer using OS 10.6.8. I have never gotten the Hide Staves Feature to show on my Finale Print Music 2011 version. Can you offer advise if this is possible or if I need to update my software?

In F 2011 it was probably called "Optimization."

 

I'm not sure whether PrintMusic has it though.

PrintMusic did not allow optimizing. There was a hidden workaround you could use in 2010, but that was removed in 2011. Do you have PM 2010 on your computer?

 

It can be done in 2011 by editing an XML file, but that is not for the fainthearted.

Thanks for your quick response. I don't have PM 2010 version and am fainthearted so will look into upgrading to v26. Will have to update my hardware for that. Do you know if the hide empty stave feature is offered in v26?

The upgrade to v26 will be an upgrade to the “full Finale” - since there is no PrintMusic version of Finale v26.

 

And yes, the “full Finale” can Hide Empty Staves.
