I am having issues when I press play for playback, the green scroll bar doesn't move, nor does it play anything. It just sits there. I've tried virtually all of the ideas proposed on this forum (deleting the FINALE and FINMIDI preferences, switching MIDI vs VST  playback options in the Midi/Audio dropdown menu, etc...). Can someone help me? This is getting a bit frustrating!

My apologies, Mike. I wish I would've waited to send my initial post because I was running short on time when posting the topic. 

Operating System: Windows 10 Home
Software Version: Finale 2014.5
Brief Description: Playback will not scroll (green bar) nor is there any sound whatsoever.

I recently found a previous post of mine with almost the same issue (no sound/no scrolling), and the person who replied to me recommended I tried looking at the microphone settings on my computer (making sure they were off for Finale), and check the audio driver. I did that again, and my microphone is still off. I was, however, able to switch my audio driver (via MIDI/Audio menu), and the scrolling works with one, but I still don't get any sound.

WHEN I GO INTO SCORE MANAGER, IT WILL NOT PLAY THE DRUM ON PLAYBACK. I HAVE CHANGED THE SCORE MANAGER TO SHOW THAT IT SHOULD PLAY THE DRUM, HOWEVER IT PLAYSTHE PIANO. ALL THE OTHER INSTUMENTS PLAY AS SHOWN.

PLEASE HELP ME!

In the Instrument List, is the drum staff set to Channel 10 (= the Percussion channel) ?

I am trying to change files that I have down loaded as midi files and I  have found that I can not change any of the instruments on any of the staves.

Something to try. It may not work, but it could not hurt to try it:

Selection Tool.

Select the staff with the instrument you need to change.

Utilities menu > Change Instrument…
