Create pedal sustain for piano

Hi,

I just use Finale 27 for Mac with NotePerFormer3. It works REALLY good. Except one thing.

I use Digital Performer since .... 1986. It is SO EASY to record a piano WITH pedal sustain. Ok ! Let's say Finale is different.

I read many many questions about how to get sustain with a piano part and I am really sorry but nothing works. I would like to solve that problem quickly because I spent already 10 hours and not solution.

Please, could anyone explain with A STEP BY STEP please. A step by step is VERY important when you explain something.

I record my piano part in Digital Performer and then import the XML track in Finale. The sound is good because I use Ivory. But no way to get sustain.

I would use the Submit a request link at the top of the page and send this to support. You may have to clear something in Finale for the pedal commands you sent from DP to work.

You actually have three things going on here. Though I have all three, I never send piano parts from DP to Finale, always the other way around via Rewire. I could try, however. What version of Digital Performer are you running?

What happens if you send the part via MIDI instead of xml?

Pedal smart shapes will not affect playback unless you use the Legacy (non-SMuFL) default files.

I use DP11.

Yesterday I was able to add pedal markings after many hours and ........ I am not sure to be able to do it today.Here is what I noticed. In the manual there is a step by step explanation how to add pedal markings.It is a step by step like I love. 1, do this, 2, do that, 3... etc...I did EXACTLY what was written and yes the pedal and release appear on my piano part but have no effect !

It means that the information is good but not complete. Something important was missing.I was able to do it working by changing the font. Strange .......On YouTube, there are many nice guys who explain the way to get a piano with sustain. I watched about ten videos and no effect of sustain. Each time something is missing.

I am ok to buy softwares but I really think an effort could be done on manuals.

Same thing to get roll on timpani. After 5 hours, I was able to have timpani with roll and this morning ..... nothing !

I prefer to laugh !
