With the imminent release of MacOS Monterey (probably late September or early October if Apple follows the usual schedule), does anyone have word on Finale 27's compatibility or if there's been testing. I'm still running 26 on Big Sur since from what I'm seeing from the 27 Demo, there are some pretty severe issues--new features that break old features, promised bug fixes that are still very present, etc.

For that matter, has anyone tried Finale 26 on Monterey (one of the betas, of course). Any info or insight appreciated.

I've been running F26 just fine so far on the developer seeds of Monterrey beginning with the fifth seed (we just got the sixth the other day, and Finale is behaving itself). I had an issue initially with caps lock not working right to enter a lot of notes in Speedy Entry, but I was able to resolve that by removing an old version of the BlackHole audio routing system and all has been well since. Reason 10 also works fine, BTW, regardless of what their Web site says (nice way to push people to update, I guess).

Does any one have any news yet on the Expressions issue with Big Sur? Currently I find Expressions jump around once created and can only be repositioned using the arrow keys ie not with the mouse. A real pain! Does this occur with Monterey? As usual everybody wants the users to update but maybe all the bugs and issues are yet to be ironed out!

Many thanks for any reply.

Sorry, I meant to confirm that I'm on v27

I can confirm that on v. 27 I too saw the same thing with the Expressions issue.  So I'm going back to v. 26 with Big Sur.  Two steps forward, one step back.  This is called an undocumented feature.  There are other glitchy things I've notice with v. 27.  I have dreams of it being fixed....just dreams.  No one seems to fix anything anymore...just buy new.    Sorry, soap box of the day.

I can’t say I disagree with your summary, Jeffrey! It’s just so frustrating!! Another annoyance is that whilst v27 is set up for Garritan instruments for Finale, it very much is not for the other Garritan software sound modules - Personal Orchestra, Jazz and Big Band, world Music, Harps etc . You would have thought that now these to organisations are under the same roof, and have been for some time that these issues would have been sorted out!

I am finding Expressions unusable in 27 over Monterey. OTOH, they're working fine enough in 26 for me. I'm in touch with Support on this.
