This is in reference to Finale PrintMusic 2014 - (Windows 10)

When I open the program it fills my entire screen. (There is no way to make it smaller so that I can see other programs as well.)

Anyway, with the program taking up my entire screen, I am seeing one page of music on the left hand side of my screen and the right hand side has nothing, just blank empty gray space.

When I go to page 2, it replaces the left side page 1 with page 2. Still nothing on the right hand side of the screen.

Is there any way to see two pages side by side at the same time?

Not in PrintMusic, sorry. You would have to upgrade to the full Finale to get that.

Thank you kindly Mike!

Would you also happen to know if there is a way to 'override' a flat / sharp / accidental to appear.

Say in the key of Eb major, I want an Eb in a particular measure to show the flat next to the note. I know it is already inferred because of the key signature, but it would be helpful in some instances when the student always forgets here and there. I have tried it and it won't show because it thinks I'm making a mistake.

If I need to ask a new question I understand.

If you choose the note in Speedy Entry, you can press the asterisk key to force the accidental to display.

In Simple, tapping the P key should show the accidental, in parentheses.

The letter A key works too.

I finally found your suggestions in Tutorial 2 by typing them into the search bar. I'm not entering notes using midi, so when I click on Speedy Entry I just get a white box and when I click on a note it hops back to Simple Entry. So, tapping the P key after placing the note in Simple entry works well. I've tried selecting a note I previously entered and then tapping P, but nothing happens. So I guess that only works with entering new notes. Thanks everyone!

Jean, the Simple Entry P works fine for me, on previously entered notes. Are you selecting the note you want to add the accidental to?

Yes, I select the note, it turns blue showing me that it is selected, then I hit the P key and nothing happens...

I know this is an old post, - just in case anyone else ever had this particular question - to put an accidental next to an existing note, let's say it is an eighth note, click on an eighth note, overlay it on the note on the page, click it to make it pink, and then when you press P, if the note should have a flat or a sharp it will show up with parenthesis. If you don't want the parenthesis, click P twice. Click again to make it go away.

Jean, that third click on P worked in older versions, but for some reason, they changed the tool to only toggle the parentheses on or off. No more third click to hide the accidental completely.

The asterisk toggles the show/hidden property for accidentals.

Mike, now that I have Finale 27, I see what you meant. I have to actually delete the note and type it back in and then press P twice to get it to show the accidental if I want to see it when it would normally not show up due to the key signature.  Such great UI.
