Hi guys,

I'm looking to write quarter note triplets with grace notes added to each note. Like this example:


 

When I try to do this, I have both the "tuplet" and "grace" tools selected and Finale tries to make tuplets out of the grace notes. When I try to toggle between the tools it seems to add the proper value to each grace note and I can't fit the 1/4 notes within the tuplet spacing.

Is there something I'm missing with the entry? Or is it just a flaw within Finale? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm currently running macOS Big Sur and have Finale vs 27.

I don’t think combining the tools is a way to go. I would do the tuplet first, and then just mouse in the grace notes.

I've tried this too and unfortunately, it doesn't work either. The grace note ends up replacing the 1/4 note entirely.

You may be clicking in the wrong place.

What is your Zoom percentage (View menu > Zoom > …) ?

Voila! That has done it! I checked my zoom percentage and wasn't zoomed in enough to place the grace note separately. I knew it had to be something simple that I was overlooking. Thanks for the feedback everyone, much appreciated.
