Hi everyone

I have a piece where I am using accordion and voice. Although the dynamics are notated appropriately for what I want, in playback, the accordion is MUCH louder than the voice. Is there a way to boost the voice dynamics or reduce the accordion dynamics for the entire piece??

Have you tried using the mixer, lowering the level of the accordion?

And make sure that is the Finale Mixer (not the Aria Mixer) since the Aria mixer responds to dynamic marks in the score, whereas the Finale Mixer sets baseline volumes for each instrument.

Both correct. You can also lower the volume in the Score Manager.

You are using Mac Finale - right?

 

Look in the Window menu.

You will find both ScoreManager and Mixer in the Window menu.

 

NB:

In the ScoreManager you must click on the chiclet Instrument List.

In the pop up menu Customize View, make sure that Mix is selected.
