I have Finale PrintMusic 2014. Windows 10.

The 'piano' playback as you can imagine with the more inexpensive program does not sound like a piano.

Questions:

Does the piano actually sound like a piano in the more expensive Finale v27?
Are there options like reverb etc...?

Thanks!

Jean

Why not download the demo version, and try it for yourself? Note that the demo does not include the Garritan sounds, so you can’t try the piano sound there.

Thanks Mike! - I think what you are saying is that with the full version, the piano should sound more like an actual piano?

Do the Garritan sounds come with v27 or are they a separate purchase?

Yes, and no.

Finale comes with Garritan Instruments for Finale (GIfF) which is a subset of the “full” GPO.

If you browse the forum, you will notice that some Finale users have bought extra sounds, such as GPO, or NotePerformer.

There are a lot of great sounding piano VIs out there. The ones in GIFF, included with the full version of Finale aren’t bad. Some are free; others can cost a few hundred bucks. Web sites have demos.

I can no longer access PrintMusic but IIRC, it cannot use any of them while 27 can access all.
