They all use different clefs, no? The line may be attached to a staff position, rather than the notes themselves. (Just speculating.)

Once you’ve installed them on your computer, they will be available to use in Finale.

Rather than that, try going to Preferences > Human Playback > Tempo Variations, and uncheck Ritardando before Fermatas Your rall. and the built in rit. may be ganging up on the fermata.

How are you entering the lyrics? If you are using Type Into Score, you might try entering the lyrics into the Lyrics window, and using click-assign.

Do you have any antivirus software running? If so, turn it off while you download.

I just looked at the PM manual. The illustrations in the TAB tutorial show the lines going through the numbers; no blanking of staff lines.
