My recommendation would be to work either in Simple or Speedy. Hyperscribe has always been more trouble than it’s worth, regardless of how simple they make it look.

I’m surprised that a 2012 version works on 10.14. Put those two notes in a different layer. In Score Manager (Instrument List) change the MIDI assignment for that layer.
