If playback doesn't matter, why not just choose two different noteheads? You can describe what they are meant to be with a text insert.
You could uninstall and reinstall the program. Then, don't rearrange the palettes.
Methinks someone needs to dump this forum software, and get something that WORKS.
This may be a silly question, but did you INSTALL the program? Just downloading it isn't enough. What browser do you use? I have Firefox, and generally, no issues.
Do you have the full Finale, or one of the reduced products?
Will a hidden rest accomplish the same playback correction? Or, you could enter a note, and hide and mute it with JW Change.
On Windows, you would hold down the ALT key, and press the number 6.
