We need to know more. including when you downloaded.

I  have an i Mac 10.12.6.  I downloaded it about 30 minutes ago.

Try shutting down your computer and restarting.

Have you ever had Finale installed before?

Double-click on Finale.app from within the Applications folder. If that works, remove the alias from the Dock and drag Finale.app into your Dock to create a new alias.

If that works, do a Safe Boot the next time you start your iMac by holding the Shift key and logging in when you get to your User Account — this will take a lot longer than a normal reboot. When done, reboot normally.

Besides resetting your caches, it will also rebuild any corrupt paths and restore any alias icons that have become generic.

If the above does not work, you may have a corrupt download. Try again with a different browser.

This may be a silly question, but did you INSTALL the program? Just downloading it isn't enough.

What browser do you use? I have Firefox, and generally, no issues.

It seems to be working now. Now I just need time learn how to set it up.  Thank you for your responses and help.  I will probably need more help soon.  I'm not great at technology, but I'm determined to learn.  Thank you again.

I would recommend taking the time to learn to use the program well by watching the quickstart videos and doing the tutorials. It's well worth the investment!
