The key is to open a copy of your v25 file in v26. If you prefer the older file, keep it.
Display sometimes alters temporarily during playback but has no lasting effect. Slurs' and ties' shifting is one of the mirages that occur.
I have not had any such problems with v26 except that it initially kept choosing ASIO instead of DirectSound and I had to change it back every time. I contacted MM Support and they got right back...
