If you made a backup at some time in the past, you may be able to retrieve some of these files (even if in an earlier form) from the backup.
Ultimately I find it easiest to control spacing by locking appropriate number of measures in each system. If a system is over-compressed, no amount of beat spacing will be fully satisfying.
