27.4.1.146 is the finale version (the latest) running on a iMac Ventura 13.6.6
Music XML. Logic doesnt care what midi channel you use since faders are assigned to tracks. So everything got ported over as mc 1. Oddly, it lost all the lyrics on the import too. I've done XML imports to Finale before c good success but not this one. Also did not bring in the tempo changes.
In Finale, if one uses different midi channels, it doesn't seem to be possible at the moment, AFAIK. I have asked for this feature without success (so far). It would be useful to make a mix "on the fly" while recording audio playback of multiple instruments, but controllable as sub-groups.
...is it possible to group faders so you CAN drag them as a group?
Not "live" with the mixer. What you CAN do, if you are using VST instruments, is to create separate banks for different groups of instruments (on separate channels with their appropriately related levels set in the score manager). That way you can adjust levels for a whole group. If you want real grouping and automation that remembers level adjustments in real time, you will need a DAW to make your perfect playback (outside of Finale, best from your finished score). There are several free ones available. Other than those, a very good, inexpensive one would be Cubase Elements.
There are many things going on here. The first thing to start with is Logic. Use a separate instance of your player to host each VI.
