Are you in the score - or are you in the Lyrics window?

In the Lyrics window you should click on the UpArrow icon, to switch to Verse 2.

In the Lyrics menu, there is also  "Specify Current Lyric".

Finale V27, MacOS 14.5 Sonoma, Mac Studio M2

SORRY DIDN'T GET BACK. learning alot and feeling very comfortable with finale now.  Thought I would tackle the lyrics window.

Steps i did: see above snapshot

1. selected Lyrics Window
2.  selected Verse 2
3. entered my text
4. Selected the first note and i got the first letter R
5. then i got the spinning wheel.  Never recovered and had to kill finale to restart.

Tried again same issue.

Is this a known issue?

Restart the computer, and try again. You’re on the right track.

restarted mac studio and same result with spinning wheel.

IS there another approach to accomplish this?

Does the same thing happen with Type Into Score?

Do you get the same result with a new document?

If a new doc works correctly, then we can narrow it down to corruption in your current piece. If that's the case, export a copy of your current work as XML, and import it back into Finale. The export/import often clears corruption.

Beyond doing as MikeR suggest with the export XML, you can have one of us look over your file. You will need a Dropbox or Google Drive link or some similar. Post it here for us to see.

Hi , i followed what @Mike Rosen steps to export xml and import back. That worked 👍
Not sure how that cleans up the issue unless exporting xml reorganizes the document 🎼

Issue i see doing the export then importing back is all my accents are under the staff for the note and on the wrong note. Also some of my text is mis-aligned.
